wet suit are suits that hold in water, then they make the water warm (from it laying on your chest) a suit that will keep you warm and ultra light

Yes, they are designed to be permeable. So when dry they are very uncomfortable and tight. But that indicates a good fit (as long as you can still breath). They absorb water and trap a thin layer between your skin and the inside of the suit. Your body then heats up the water to work as a kind of jacuzzi to keep your body temp. up. If you get one that is comfortabme when dry, there will be too much room between you and suit when wet, and your body will not be able to properly heat the water. Good luck!
