Is there any way to stop getting a sunburn if I am allergic to "SPF" sunblocks?
Ive tried at least 5 different brands with different ingredients, with all of them having the SPF in common. I hate getting sunburned, but I love kayaking. I know I could dress up like an albino and use white clothes to protect me, but looking for alternative to sunblock that can be applied to my skin.
Have you checked in your local health food store? They usually sell several different types, especially for people with allergies. People there are usually pretty knowledgeable. Talk to them and see what they suggest.

SPF is the sun protection factor, ie a rating of how effective the sunscreen is at blocking the sun, and not an ingredient, so you can’t really be allergic to SPF.
It’s most likely the PABA that you are having a reaction to. There are non-PABA, hypoallergenic sunscreens out there; I’d try the baby section of the supermarket as products for babies tend to be the most gentle. I’m confident you’ll find an appropriate product there.
Enjoy your kayaking!
