Does a Rash guard provide even a little bit of warmth? Since it is supposed to keep water away from your body, im hoping it gives just a little bit of warmth. Is this true?

NO. It is not designed to keep water off your body, it is designed to protect your skin from the friction that develops when you a paddling on a waxed surfboard.

You loose body heat much, much faster in water than in air. A wet rash guard will make you not only feel colder, but loose heat faster than your bare skin, which air dries rather quickly.

I have been surfing since 1966, long before rash guards were invented. Wet clothes increase heat loss. If you are too cold, get yourself a wetsuit top ior vest.
